1001 Yew (tree 60, conifer of TPO T0028) Fell due to unsafe condition and rapid advance of decay. Replace with one yew tree in alternative location within churchyard. Amended to 5 day Dead/dangerous notification. 'During the passage of Storm Austen on Friday, the stem suffered further damage and is now flexing such that the vertically aligned cracks on the south side of the stem are opening and closing in the wind. The complex of cracks and cavity openings extend from the bole to ground level meaning that the stem has now split open on its southern aspect and has lost structural integrity. The tree has therefore comfortably passed the safe limit for retention and has undergone primary stem failure. THREATS now indicates that the tree should be removed immediately without waiting for determination of the TPO application currently before you. The churchyard has been temporarily closed but I understand that members of the public are still entering the danger zone so there really is a high degree of urgency here.'
